40 billion euros, new air defense systems against Russian missiles and fighter jets already this summer. A NATO summit was held in Washington, which had significant consequences for Ukraine. However, Ukrainians still have questions about when exactly the alliance is ready to accept Ukraine as a full member.

We will not stop supporting Ukraine on its path to full Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership. The final declaration says: "We reaffirm that we will be able to send an invitation to Ukraine to join the alliance once the members of the alliance agree and the conditions are met."Western leaders do not want peace, but a "strategic defeat" of Russia, said Putin's spokesman Dmytro Peskov.

Nothing unexpected happened. The mass media have been reporting for several months that some members of the alliance are not ready to make a decision on Ukraine's full membership; sometimes only the list changes. On the eve of the summit, an intriguing event occurred: the German news agency DPA reported that French President Emmanuel Macron said that it is the United States and Germany that are preventing Ukraine from becoming a full member of NATO.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijártó told Hungarian television during the summit that Ukraine's entry would weaken the alliance. Thus, the opposition exists, it's just that some are ready to speak publicly and some are not.

Key decisions include Denmark's pledge to provide assistance to Ukraine and the launch of the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) mechanism to coordinate the provision of military equipment and training to the Ukrainian military; creation of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Training Center (JATEC); allocation of 40 billion euros of "minimum basic financing" to Ukraine next year; and large aid packages from Canada ($367 million) and Australia ($170 million).

At the end of the summit, 22 NATO countries, the EU and Japan signed the "Ukrainian Treaty", which means that they will provide Ukraine with weapons, ammunition and military training. This treaty can be signed by other states. It is extremely important to convince Western societies and politicians that Ukraine should become a member of NATO.Ukraine has more and more claims.

The Ukrainian Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, which was founded by MKIP to combat Russian disinformation, emphasizes that Russia attacked Ukraine in 2014 not because Kyiv joined NATO, but because it was outside the alliance. And he recalls how Turkey was protected from the invasion of the Stalinist Soviet Union through NATO membership. Ukraine is a test of NATO's ability. The Center believes that the Alliance's indecision regarding Ukraine gives the Kremlin the impression that collective defense is ineffective. Currently, the position of the alliance members regarding the confrontation with Russia remains unchanged, and the inclusion of Ukraine in the alliance is considered as a step towards the confrontation with Russia.

NATO does not pose a threat to Russia and does not seek confrontation. The summit's final declaration reads: "We remain ready to maintain channels of communication with Moscow to reduce risk and prevent escalation"
Most of the countries of the alliance take into account the readiness of defense systems, internal crises and upheavals that a conflict with Russia may cause. For example, this year there is a desire to avoid sharp movements and sharp statements during the election campaign in the United States. A similar situation is likely to repeat itself next year, when the election campaign begins in Germany.

When politicians come to power who are not worried about the escalation of confrontation with Russia, internal political changes may occur in the main NATO members, which may cause changes in perceptions of Ukraine's membership.
